Utilizing Social Networking Sites to Make Money Online

Social networking sites are huge right now and ripe for you to make money online from. They are a part of what is being called web 2.0. Sites like Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and others have thousands even millions of members, members you can market to. Most of these sites have groups or clubs you can become a member of and sneak your sales pitch into.
YouTube is a great to make money online because people love to watch videos. Reading about something is little work, but having that same information given as a video makes it more appealing. You just set back and let the person who made the video feed you the information. I would say that if given the same information in two forms, one that has to be read and one that can be watched on a video, I would gamble that the majority of people would rather watch the video.
So knowing that you could use YouTube or some other video site to make a video telling about your product, service, newsletter or affiliate program and leave some way for the watchers to contact you at the end of the video.
Sites like Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Yuwie and others sites like these are great for networking with loads of people interested in certain niches making it easy to have highly targeted audiences for your niche items. These also have clubs and groups that are niche oriented making them a goldmine for the niche marketer.
If you are doing any kind of online marketing you are really missing out on a win fall if you’re not utilizing the power of social networking sites to make money online.

How does myspace and facebook make its money?
I mean I know you get a little extra cash for advertising but millions of dollars for just advertising?? I know they don’t sell any goods(i think). How do they do it and why do they need 400 employees working?

I am a letter carrier with the USPS for going on 30 years who has had a PO box for more than 20, and can tell you that regarding PO boxes from the USPS, you do not know what you are talking about. Businesses open and close PO boxes that are used strictly for commerce all the time. An individual can use their box for personal or business use. I do. I receive my personal mail as well as all mail for my eBay business, and no one at the PO has ever asked me for anything other than the info I signed up for it with in 1987, which was my name, street address and phone number.
There is a local band with a large following that has a member of it living in my zip code. That person happens to be the business manager for the group and receives all of the mail addressed to the group at his personal residence, but if he were to open up a PO box to handle this mail, he'd have no problem at all.
I don't know what kind of problems you've had with private outfits, or their policies, but the PO is no problem at all. Just go there and tell them that you want to open a box with you as the owner, representing your business, the band, and make sure the clerk understands that mail addressed to you or the band is to go there. They won't care if you're making money from it, that's the whole idea of business, and the PO isn't in business to turn business away. Just so you don't run into problems getting everything, make sure that any advertising you do instructs fans to send mail for individual band members IN CARE OF the band, or the clerks may not recognize the name and 'kill' the piece, ie, send it back.

What I would suggest is a premium forwarding service.
It costs $10 a week.
What happens is, mail for an address if collected for a week and then put into a pre-addressed priority envelope or box, then sent to the forwarding address.
This keeps people from being able to request a "address service" on you.

Starting to look like spam, but all I can say is- I had a friend who was in a band back in the mid-late 80s. This was Before the internet & they managed to get fan mail from Japan.
So if some no name band could do it back *then*……

I understand your frustration. After much research I came to the conclusion that the company below has the best all around security and convenience. Read their security policy, it is the strongest around, and I have to say that their service has been adequate for my demanding expectations. You have the freedom to pick your address from 23 locations. Check them out yourself. Read their security policy. And you can open your account online.
