For best results, when you are in doubt about an affiliate program do not take the offer up. It is all to easy to ignore the niggling doubts we have. All of us have an inner radar system that warns us loud and clear when something is just not right. However, most people learn to suppress this warning signal often with disastrous results. Therefore, the first thing is to listen your gut feeling. If you get “that feeling” drop the offer.
To be doubly sure, go for only those affiliates which have been recommended by close friends (who have already tried and tested it) or affiliates which have been around for at least five year and gained a positive reputation in the market.
Stick with the big named Marketers as besides security, these affiliate programs are likely to give you the best terms you could get, plus a free website and some tools.
The Most Popular Affiliate Marketing Scams
1. Greed is the main helper of affiliate marketing scams. Greed and need make a person blind to reason and this is how most affiliate scams operate. They paint a rosy picture where they make earning money look like child’s play. They make false claims about amazing sums of money which make you feel greedy for the income. In that moment you got that feeling, you are captured by the affiliate marketing scam. If you do think that promises to make you rich over night are genuine it is worthwhile doing a search on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to see if this company is registered or not; if not, do not trust it.
2. Desperation is the next helper for the fraudulent Marketer. Are you in need of cash urgently? Do you want to have multiple income sources with little effort? Do you want to quit your job and work from home? These are the questions to which each one of us have positive answers. When you are down on cash or suffocated by your job, be very careful on what advertisement you believe and choose to try. It is possible you are stepping into a trap of affiliate marketing scams which instead of giving you money, would demand whatever little money you have remaining on you.
3. Money begets money. Most of us believe in this adage and we feel that if the investment has good prospects, you should make a payment. However, some scams imply that if you want a large payout you need to invest a lot. The problem is that the moment you make an investment, they disappear. Avoid paying a lot of money up front for any internet business without doing a lot of research first. In fact, qualitative affiliate programs would enroll you without any payment, while they would host your website for free and also provide you the latest tools to market the product.
If you are careful and do your research you will be able to choose only the good affiliate programs that are out there and sidestep the affiliate marketing scams of which there are plenty.

Affiliate Marketing?I'm just signed up for an affiliating marketing program. I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with this type of business. Is this a good business? I would like to hear the good as well as the bad. Maybe some good advice on some niches to foucus on. Any tips would be great. I've tried some home business opportunities before but they all were scams. I really want to succeed with this. Thanks to all.
No, it's an opportunity for you to show your selling skills and you will be rewarded if you are good at it.
Please choose your affiliate program carefully.
I highly recommend http://www.clickbank.com if you want to get started.

That is what has helped me the most because they have a clear, simple to follow action guide that shows you step by step what to do. You end up with a website that ranks high in the search engines. This is how you will get a steady flow of traffic from the seach engines. And in order to make money with affiliate marketing online, you will need a lot of targeted traffic.
They also teach you how to Presell your traffic before you send them to your affiliate links. This is how successful affiliates have a higher conversion rate. Affiliate marketing is a skill that takes time to learn how to do effectively. But if you are up for it, the information is there for you. Best of Luck…
You could focus your niche on things people really want, not what they need because not many people buy what they need they buy what they desire!
You could go to ebay and check the ebay pulse section and find out what people are searching for and buying the most, and then drill down into that niche so that you are not competing in a general niche where thousands of other people are promoting their stuff.
The Lycos top 50 is also another good source to find out what is being searched for the most.
When you find a hot niche you will need to milk it for all it's worth! which means setting up a website with articles on the niche you have chosen, plus the affiliate products you want to promote on there as well.you could also set up an autoresponder so that you can catch peoples email address so that you can carry on selling to them even when they have left your site.
You will also need to write some unique articles based on highly searched for keywords that have low competion anything under 50,000 competing pages should be fine, submit them to ezine articles and include your link to your website in your authors resource box,try to write at least one article per day.
if you do not want to pay for a website then you can easily set up a free blog with either blogger or wordpress.
remenber to update it daily.
another way to get traffic to your site or blog is to set up a squidoo page on a specific subject in your niche and link it back to your site or blog.
There is a lot more than this to it but if you take it step by step and continue to build around your niche then over time you will start to see the money coming in.

Once you have a quality site with decent traffic you can push a product on there. CJ.com is pretty good if you get a lot of traffic. (they will cancel your account if you don't produce enough traffic)
Firstly, check out for http://seriousppccoaching.com for some more in depth info on this.
No, I don't think it is a scam but there does seem to be a few bad reviews of the site on some of the webmaster forums.
If I was you I would join PPC Coach instead. I joined a few months ago after I read some of the most respected affiliate marketing blogs (Nicky Cakes, Zac Johnson, Johnathon Volk) giving really excellent reviews. I don't like talking about how much I earn but I'm on target to earn more this month and next month then I did all of last year. It really is all due to the info and help that PPC Coach provided me with.
Clickbank is a well respected market place for affiliate marketing other products. It is used by many many internet marketers including the very successful. You can see more details on the site itself. Briefly, after you have opened a free account:
1) You review the market place and find an item that you think that you can sell. The commission rates are shown – they are usually range about 40-55% but can be more or less.
2) Get you link to sell the item. Clickbank explains this for you. Now cloak the link so that it cannot be stolen.
3) Write some description of the item on your web site, a review etc and then insert the link on your site.
4) Promote your site. When someone purchases the item – they are sent through your link to the affiliate owners site who then takes the money and delivers the product.
5) Your share then appears in clickbank – who take out their expenses and send you a periodic check for the difference.
Clickbank handles the payment process.
You can also look at paydotcom.com which is owned by Mike Filisiame who is an extremely well respected and trusted marketer. (butterfly marketing)
You could also look at Clikkads.com which provides adsense type ads using clickbank products.
Well I work with a company that uses affiliate marketing and network marketing. It would be silly to say that affiliate marketing is a scam. Scroll to the bottom of any major website and there will be a little link that says "become an affiliate". Affiliate marketing pays on performance and saves companies millions of dollars in advertising alone. Your job is to be aware of what it takes for an affiliate marketing or network marketing company to be successful. That way when looking at a company you can make a legitimate assessment of whether that company is a good option for you. I say this because the average Joe will ask his poor friend/neighbor/relative for financial advice rather than educating themselves. If you find a good company the potential for creating residual income is amazing. I did my best to put in my two cents, if you still have questions just send me an email.
