When browsing online, I really most of the times find some sites on google search that really promises to solve my problems, after clicking on it and discover nothing but ads. What is the purpose of such a site? This is known as parking which can be done for free by some domain companies.
Before development – developing a website may be difficult, or may take time according to your level of understanding of web designing. When you know that it will be quite a few month before you can do anything, but you can’t let the desired URL slip through your fingers. The name may not be available in six months? So you buy the name, park it and then it is online.
These domain company may offer to park it or in most cases put their default page on your domain name, you can then register with a parking company, then submit the domain names and then change the domain name servers to that of the parking company, after which you can then optimize it to make it look more attractive.
Now, here is the interesting part. You can park a domain name and leave it and even make money from it, so you will earn from the adverts that are put on your domain names, also post a sign saying under construction so as to make your visitors come back.
Getting visitors – You can buy related or typo domain names, for example
you can find a good domain name with traffic and buy a domain name by just omitting one letter in the real domain name, this is a very useful tool, I bet you so many visitors will definitely make mistakes and find themselves in your domain names. Remember that you do not need to drive traffic to your domain name, with this tool you will still get good visitors.
So parking domain names can be good if you are buying at a low price and having the intention of selling it higher in the future, this also look like buying a land, developing it and selling it later for a higher price, which is also called real estate. So before selling your domain names you can park them and make money from them for a while before selling them.
This is a goldmine because there are some internet real estate investment companies online which will actual buy your domain names, work on it and still sell it to interested webmasters at insane prices. If you buy a domain name for $5 and sell it to them for $300 after a week, you will agree with me that it is a good investment, imagine you selling 10 of such names monthly.

Earning from domain parking is bit different business. 1st you need good generic domains, and 2nd you need a good domain parking provider.
Few parking providers are ::

Other thing is monitor old popular domains which are expiring and try to register them as soon as they expire.
You need to have a domain portfolio to earn from parking.

Their is either free domain parking or paid domain parking where you get money for someone clicking on the links that the domain hosting company puts on the website.
if you dont use domain parking then you use webpages to display your content otherwise when someone goes to the domain name you purchased then they will get an error saying the page doesnt exist.

Yes. People could earn money just by parking their domain. You must choose the right company to park your domain though, because you could earn more if you parked the domain on the right place.

Judging from your question, I believe you want to know where you can re-register your domains inexpensively. I don't know of any registration companies that charge under $5, but 1and1.com has registration for $6.99. That's about the cheapest you're going to find.
Now if you're really looking for parking, that's free. You can park your domain at Sedo.com, and you can earn money when people click on the ads. You'll simply have to point your domains to Sedo, and they'll set-up the page for you.
But in order to use Sedo's domain parking, you'll still need to have the domains registered elsewhere. Parking is just for making money.

Domain parking is the practice of registering a domain name (that is, the name you type into the browser to get to a wesbite) just to own that domain name, without actually creating the site.
For example, if at some point I thought someone may some day make a company that sells pizzas made of shoes i ,could go to a registrar like goDaddy, namecheap, or a place like that and buy the domain http://www.PizzaMadeOfShoes.com or http://www.TastyShoePizza.com or anything like that. I would need to pay a fee every year I wanted to keep that. But, if some day someone really wants that same domain name, they need to buy it from me, and I can charge them more than I paid for it.
